So what if Viet Nam got a Tariff?

One of our dear customers from the US is kind enough to share with me this news as soon as it was posted by USTR with great concern about our business in Vietnam.
Well, Frankly speaking, it will be devastating for our business if the US government decides to impose a tariff on Vietnam just like China.
However, as I keep telling the local factories, they should never consider the Tariff something long term, and just focus on their own competency – something that’s within their control. Instead of clinging on those that are temporary external advantages.
After all, the trend of moving manufacturing to countries like Vietnam started years before the US-China Trade-war anyway. Those that are truly good and remarkable will still do just fine.
Besides, here’s the bonus, an opinion from the Supply chain director, of a leading US company.
So what do you think about it?
